Porsche took another step forward with their 2015 Cayenne series by completing a new facelift for the vehicle just before its scheduled premiere at the Paris Motor Show for October, 2014.

The new Cayenne was given a reworked body and two new powertrains located under the hood and a gas-electric plug-in hybrid 3.6L V6 complete with twin turbochargers. More than a facelift, the new additions gives the Cayenne a revamped look. The overall purpose was to give the SUV a newer, edgier appearance to appeal to younger drivers.

The luxury SUV offers a new grille, lights, bumper and a contoured hood which sits above the new fenders. A Bi-Xenon pair of headlights with a four-point LED daytime running light system helps the vehicle to be seen better in the daylight hours, Plus, LED headlamps that take advantage of the Porsche Dynamic Light System. Plus, the rear of the vehicle has been thinned out as well with new tail lamps and a redesigned tailgate, exhaust pipes and bumper as well.

The interior has reportedly been upgraded as well with a new sport steering wheel and shift paddles for the driver and an improved rear seating system. There is an option for a new ventilation system as well in the Cayenne. An auto-stop/start function plus system is also new for the 2015 Cayenne which also includes optimized heat management. Active air flaps are also being introduced for the SUV for better fuel efficiency via improved aerodynamics.

The Cayenne borrows the same parallel plug-in hybrid system that the Panamera offers which hooks up the 94 hp electric motor with a 3.0L V6 which is supercharged to generate an impressive 410 hp. The new powertrain allows the Cayenne to go from 0 to 62 mph in mere 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 151 mph. The electric motor alone can reach speeds of 78 mph.

The other engines available include the 414 hp twin turbocharged V6 and the 395 hp 4.8L V8. Using Tiptronic S transmission, the Cayenne S version will reach 62 mph from a standing start in a mere 5.1 seconds. The 2015 Cayenne is priced at $61,700 for the diesel version and goes up to $113,600 for the 513 hp 4.8 V8 Turbo that can race from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.2 seconds.

There is little doubt that the new 2015 Cayenne is one of the most powerful, sleek luxury SUVs on the market today and will make its debut in October, 2014 at the Paris Motor Show.
